      Core Summary: Quick Thought Capture operates entirely on your local machine. We do not run external databases, track keystrokes, sell personal data, or store your notes on cloud servers.
    

1. Information We Collect and Process

User-Authored Notes: All notes, text snippets, and timestamps are saved solely within your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. They remain entirely local to your device.
Page Metadata: If you keep the "Attaching current page" option enabled, the extension captures the URL and page title of your currently focused tab at the moment of saving. No background browsing history is recorded.
Analytics & Tracking: We use zero tracking pixels, behavioral cookies, or usage telemetry.

2. Third-Party Services & Payment Processing

We do not store or process your credit card, PayPal, or billing details. Payment and licensing are handled through Gumroad (Merchant of Record):

When activating a Pro license, the extension sends your entered license key and product identifier via HTTPS directly to api.gumroad.com for cryptographic validation.
Transaction data, billing names, and invoices are governed directly by Gumroad's Privacy Policy.

3. Chrome Extension Permissions Justification

storage: Required to persist your saved thoughts and activation state locally across browser sessions.
activeTab: Required exclusively to pull the title and URL of your active tab when explicitly triggered by the user.
https://api.gumroad.com/*: Required to query Gumroad's official API (/v2/licenses/verify) to confirm lifetime Pro access.

4. Data Deletion and Export

Export: Pro users can export all saved items into a standardized CSV file at any time.
Deletion: Deleting an entry in the popup removes it permanently from your machine. Uninstalling the extension purges all stored notes instantly.

5. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

"As-Is" Provision: Quick Thought Capture is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
Data Integrity: Because data is stored strictly in your browser's local sandbox, clearing your browser data or resetting Chrome profiles without exporting will result in unrecoverable data loss. Users are responsible for exporting backups of critical notes.
Affiliation: This software is independently developed and is not endorsed by, directly affiliated with, or maintained by Google LLC or Gumroad, Inc.
